The subtle art of implementing a wellness strategy

The Power Of ‘The Wellness Strategy’ For Event Planners

“Prioritising downtime should be part of your wellness strategy” – Laurine Magye

What is your wellness strategy?

‘Yes’ to the demanding client.

‘Yes’ to working late, for the 3rd night in a row.

and even turning a ‘no’ into a ‘yes’, last minute.

I have observed that the best and most successful event planners in the world don’t say ‘yes’ to everything.

In fact, they are the professionals who know exactly when to say no!

Saying ‘No’ Must Be Part Of Your Wellness Strategy

In fast-paced environments like the events industry, “rest” can feel like a complete foreign concept.

Additionally, science makes it crystal clear that:

  • Stress can double your risk of developing a heart attack by 45%1
  • Work-related stress increases of coronary heart disease for women by 21%2
  • and 30% increase in stroke risk3

Consequently, this means saying “no” is more important than ever.

Event Planners,

Say “No” to unproductivity.

and say “No” because the longevity of your career depends on it.

What I know to be true, is that chronic stress should not be accepted as “part of the job”, but as something that can and will be managed practically with a CRM system.

This is the only way to manage working in events effectively.

Cultivating A Healthy Relationship With Work In High-Pressure Environments

Tight Deadlines.

High expectations,

and shifting goalposts are very much the norm, so having a healthy relationship with work is a necessity.

For this reason, this is why I champion using purpose-built CRM systems and spearhead implementing systems like Wedo Planner CRM,

only for the best event planners.

Allowing you to work smarter instead of working yourself into the claws of ill health.
